Georgian Association for Ophthalmology Advancement (GAOA)

The Georgian Association for Ophthalmology Advancement was established on December 18, 2018.

The goal of GAOA  is to develop the main directions  of ophthalmology and implement practical recommendations in such areas  as glaucoma – congenital glaucoma surgery, neuroophthalmology, onco-ophthalmology, oculoplasty  and dacryology, retinal diseases – vitreoretinal surgery, pediatric ophthalmology, refractive surgery, cataract surgery, keratoplasty, keratoconus management, management   and prevention of retinopathy of prematurity,  laser surgery.

The establishment of GAOA   implies an important, active involvement in timely informing the population of Georgia about prevention and treatment of ophthalmological diseases.

Since the establishment of GAOA, ophthalmological trainings and scientific conferences have been held regularly, which provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience.
