3rd Scientific and Practical International Conference

Under the auspices of the Georgian Association for Ophthalmology Advancement and with the support of New Hospitals clinic, the 3rd Scientific and Practical International Conference will be  held in Tbilisi on December 2.

The conference is dedicated to the 95th  anniversary of the birth of Professor Jimsher Antelava.

The program includes the reports of the leading ophthalmologists of the world and Georgia, which unite  different directions of ophthalmology.

The conferences held by GAOA in recent years are characterized by interesting scientific sessions and represent a unique platform for exchange of  knowledge and experience.

GAOA 2023 year

The conferences held by GAOA in recent years are characterized by interesting scientific sessions and represent a unique platform for exchange of  knowledge and experience.

In 2023, GAOA held  10 trainings, in which  a total of 40 ophthalmologists participated. With the support of GAOA, the trainings of this type are being  held at the National Center of Ophthalmology (New Hospitals based clinic) from 2019.

2nd Scientific-Practical Conference

The 2nd Scientific-Practical Conference organized by the Georgian Association for Ophthalmology Advancement was held on December 3, 2022.

Glaucoma book presentation – „Terminology and Guidelines for Glaucoma“

For the first time, the Terminology and Guidelines for Glaucoma have been published in Georgian language, supported by the European Glaucoma Society. These guidelines were put together by a team of leading ophthalmologists, especially those specializing in glaucoma from Europe and Great Britain. The American Glaucoma Society and experts from various countries also made significant contributions.

 

     

 

This book serves as a helpful guide for ophthalmologists, covering how to classify, diagnose, and treat glaucoma. Initially released in 12 languages, the 13th edition in Georgian marks a significant step in making this essential information more accessible to ophthalmologists.
